Teekyu (てーきゅう Tēkyū?) is a sports comedy manga series, serialized in Earth Star Entertainment's Comic Earth Star since February 2012. Its name is a pun on the Japanese word for tennis, teikyū (庭球?).[1] The manga has been adapted into an anime adaptation, running for three seasons, the third of which is currently ongoing.

The anime adaptation is produced by MAPPA with direction and writing by Shin Itagaki. The series' first season aired between October and December 2012,[1] the second one - between July and September 2013,[5] and the third one began airing in October 2013.[6][7] All three seasons aired on Tokyo Metropolitan Television and AT-X and additionally, the first one was streamed on Niconico and the third one aired on Sun Television. All three seasons have been simulcasted by Crunchyroll.[1][5][6]
Each season makes use of one theme song. For the first season it is "Botsuraku Kizoku no Tame no Teekyu" (没落貴族のためのてーきゅう?) by Yui Watanabe, for the second - "Menimeni Manimani" (メニメニマニマニ?) by Kyōko Narumi, and the for the third - "Nufutto Teekyu Potlatch" (ぬふっとてーきゅうポトラッチ?) by Yui Watanabe.
The first season was released on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on February 22, 2013.[8][9] The second season was released on Blu-ray Disc on October 25, 2013, along with two OVA episodes.[10] The third season is scheduled to be released on January 24, 2014, on Blu-ray Disc.[11]
